I first got it as an option to place the microphone on the Osmo 3 gimbal. It does that job really well. Since then I've found many other uses for it. Using a microphone with a DSLR or mirrorless camera is a simpler and more compact alternative than a full cage. If you just need a cage to mount your microphone or video light then I think this might be the best option for you. DSLR on rail for astrophotography. It might not be hard enough, but it's worth a try. Very good for the price!
