As a steadfast and steadfast Sonicare user since it was first launched 25 years ago and respecting the patented technology, I was just looking for a replacement for my unit. This is only the third device in 25 years and speaks volumes for Sonicare. I was about to pay $229 for a new set of diamonds. I stumbled across this and read all the reviews. I'm skeptical, but I actually like the design better as it's more compact and lighter. The technology has expired patent and can actually be replicated by others. So I bought this device. It just got on the Jeff Buy and Try list of achievements. I'm constantly trying to find a bug or bug and I can't. I suspect it won't last 7 years like my other Sonicare units. But now that incredibly brand-loyal, eternally grateful Sonicare is a convert for that particular alternative. Admit it, if you have $229 for a Diamond Series Sound Care unit, why not spend $26 first and just see how it works? The packaging is great, the extra heads shed some light on that at the moment, this is a travel and home toothbrush like it's in my briefcase every day now. I sincerely hope and pray never to find a catch. I just had a dental exam and cleaning and again no plaque removal was required thanks to the sonic technology. I'll be back in three months to measure the difference if there is any.
