I hate those hats, I find them uglier than crocodiles, almost as gross as a fanny pack in daylight and yes, even worse than socks with sandals. However this is a necessary evil as I am an Irish descendant with a history of skin cancer and do not wish to have one, many thanks. I bought it to take with me to the pool 9 times out of 10. I'm the only one there so keep a floating donut and a book and I'll paddle like a duck in a pond for a while. I have long, dry hair that I have to watch out for when I walk which leaves my face uncovered, even with 100% sunscreen I still blush a little. This hat, if you call it that, protects my hair from the sun and protects my face from the sun. The price is right, does what I need, but uglier than a cow butt.
