Review on Vivitar Hotshoe Manual Adjust Automatic by Timothy Gonzalez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Inexpensive little flash with little OOMPH.

This flash is obsolete. Older than my teenage daughter but I don't need lots of bright flashes, I need work horses not race horses that require special care. This little flash works well for soft fills, backlighting, or as a very manual key light in a pinch. It's not the most powerful lamp, but since I intend to make it inexpensive and portable, I prefer the phrase "Imagine I just dropped it" rather than "Damn, how can I afford another one ?" blink. They are inexpensive but useful. Make sure you have a Vivitar pc cable, these aren't normal connectors, so I ended up "designing" a Frankenpc cable with my wireless remote controls. It's heavy for its size (old thick plastic) but as an extra light or backup I haven't found better value for money. Enjoy!

Pros
  • Vivitar Electronic Flash
Cons
  • Requires an outlet
