Ideal solution for devices with only one USB port. Fully functions as a docking station.

This is the perfect travel adapter for devices with only one USB port. You have an HP Elite x2 that came with a travel dock, but that dock didn't offer power or HDMI passthrough that could drive a high-resolution display. This Satechi adapter has it all! I chose this multiport adapter instead of the cheaper Satecha because it has a LAN port. When traveling or at work, this small adapter can replace a much more expensive docking station. True, you can't drive multiple heads with this dock, but since it can drive a 4k monitor (@30Hz), this screen is more than enough. I connect this adapter between my HP tablet and my 4k TV/monitor at home and have a setup that beats any multi head setup when working with lower resolution displays. I didn't need card readers, but that's a nice bonus since the HP and MAC tablets I know don't have card readers. Again, the LAN port comes in handy as I didn't want to rely on WiFi in case the WiFi is unreliable, less secure, or slower than the available Gbit network. A USB to Gbit adapter costs about as much as the cost difference between that adapter and even a smaller Satechi device. It's reasonable to design a LAN in a box, but I understand that some people don't care about the LAN connector. I think I'll be testing this device at work to spend more hours testing its temperatures and see if there are any durability issues. I've only had this machine for a week, but so far I like it. Key Attributes: Pass-Through Charging, 4k HMDI (@30 Hz), Gbit LAN
