The water smells of horrible chemicals! Health hazard

Absolute first day wage dangerous to people We were looking for a 100% stainless steel kettle with no plastic in contact with hot water. We've tried so many and explored a lot more! It seems even more difficult than finding diamonds. Finally we got to it. I'll give them that it looks good and is 99.9% steel (I'll tell you why that 0.1% matters). Everything is steel except for a tiny piece that connects the internal thermostat to the floor. It's plastic, and my goodness, it smells awful when the water boils. I'm amazed at how awful water smells when you boil it. At first I thought it was new and maybe it's something they used in production and it will go away. But it's not, and it's only getting worse! I've boiled water in this kettle at least 10 times to get the smell out but it just keeps getting worse! It's that tiny piece of plastic and I don't know what it is! But the smell, of course, is terrible and unbearable. I bet there are chemicals in the water! However, I'm sharing this here to discourage you from going down that path! I'm sending it back and getting back to my endless search for a good stainless steel kettle. Why is it so hard to find?!
