Review on πŸ”’ LSI SAS 9210-8i: Reliable 8-Port 6Gb/s PCIe HBA RAID SATA Controller Card by Cody Siger

Other than that, I'm very happy with the quality of this product

I bought it recently and haven't been able to use it as I'm still waiting for my hard drives and SAS expansion card. . This unit currently supports 15 x 2TB drives in Raid 0 (separate backup available). Negative first.- This product comes with no instructions, no additional components (a low profile one came with it but had to be plugged into a 4U case. Couldn't compensate for that) - after some research I've concluded that the Broadcom company (tried to find info on installation and setup) after I found out about it, I checked the support site to find nothing that helped actually start the device. Reading forums on various websites, I found that you can get into the card's BIOS by pressing Ctrl + C at boot time (before the main BIOS). Positive. Going by the old adage "go through hell to get to heaven”, I have to say that I managed to completely build and finish everything in one day. Among other things, I had to set up the entire server and shared drives, but this particular part of the process took no more than an hour. If the seller doesn't want to include documentation, at least some useful information on customization will come in handy. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the quality of this product. A previous reviewer claims this is used, admittedly I'm a little worried about longevity, but that's what backups are for. This server is not "critical" and therefore doesn't bother me deeply. It should also be noted that I did not put this device in IT mode. It is still in stock.
