Review on πŸŽ’ DURATON Lightweight Backpack for Resilient Backpacking by Toni Cooper

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Doesn't stand up to hiking backpacks

I loved this backpack when I first got it - roomy, comfortable, the company gives wounded soldiers - what's not to like? Unfortunately, it does NOT withstand even a light load during a hike. I did a 5 day hike and packed 25-30 pounds depending on the water. First, the bindings are minimal and not always practical. There are drawstrings on the hood but they are useless. I also hung some gear on the 5 liter bag's gear loops and opened the weight. I closed it again but had to repackage it from scratch. It was a minor issue compared to other issues: the buckle on the hip belt broke and I had to fake it, then the same thing happened to the buckle on the right shoulder belt. I followed the trail and carried my backpack on one shoulder! Finally, the rain cover is large enough to ONLY cover the pack itself, forget about any gear attached to the outside (like a tent or sleeping pad). All in all VERY disappointed.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Sad gear
