This case would be too big for my old Kenwood radios, but it fits my new Motorola phones perfectly. The body is rigid and the nylon material feels durable. Maybe there would have been better impact protection if the chassis were a bit taller, but that's a moot point. Leaving the top inch open, which is attached to the snap closure with elastic straps, it can be removed without fumbling. My phones don't need a rain cover as they are waterproof, but non-waterproof models can be vulnerable with this "open" design. I am satisfied with the purchase and give an unreserved recommendation.
