Review on AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AM4 Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler (YD1600BBAFBOX) - 65W Energy Efficiency by Johnathan Delic

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is indeed a 12nm part of the 2nd gen Zen+. Codenamed "Pinnacle Ridge " under CPUz.

July 2021 - at $150 they're worth a lot less. I would only buy less than $200 3600 if you can get one. It's a great chip (at $85 a piece I paid in 2020) and I have four systems at home paired to them, but in 2021 I'd buy at least a Zen2 3000 series for $150 .If they drop to $100 or less then yes I would recommend. Even on Intel they have the 10400F which is a great buy. Update February 14th: I just bought two more of these and paired them with Revain Warehouse Tomahawk B450 boards ($76 each). I decided to sell my old Sandybridge CPU/board/RAM and even upgrade my kids who got them a PC as the price isn't that great considering I spend around 80-100 for each of my old hardware setups get US dollars. What these systems do when overclocked with more watts and temperatures is effortlessly keep the headroom cool and quiet. I have 7 PCs in my house so these 1600AFs might one day replace my dual core Intel processors. YouTube Channel Tech Deals). I liked the upgrade so much that I wanted one of my MediaPCs that I use the GTX970 on to feel the same way. I figured this 1600AF would probably be a good choice for a budget HD/4k TV gaming rig. I just completed the install and did a test on my 2700x and then reset all the 1600AF defaults with a 3200MHz C16. With no changes other than CPU, both runs showed my GTX1070 to be 99% GPU locked in The Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark. I know the bottom details help show the difference in CPU performance, but for my quick test I'm pretty happy with the default performance. No difference to my 2700x. Max temp 34 degrees with Noctua 14 cooler. I will soon be porting this CPU/MB/RAM 1600AF to a Media PC case with a Prism RGB cooler from my 2700x purchase (upgrade, it works great as a MediaPC, cool , quiet and smooth). Check out my attached screenshots of Afterburner CPU usage and test results. Hope this helps someone!
