I bought these to freeze. I was looking for 16 ounce freezer jars like the blue ones I bought a few years ago. For me they are perfect and not expensive at all. I think you can buy mason jars cheaper, and if you do, those are the wrong jars. I cook big pots and freeze portions in these jars. They show a freezer. In any case, this description is switched off. So the bottom line is, if you want to freeze, buy these jars. They are cool. If you want, you can buy other glasses cheaper. You can also use them for canning if you like. They are versatile, at least I think so.
