If this is chunky, I hate to think what lightweight would be.
As cardigan sweaters go, it's fine. It washed well, at least on the delicate setting, and it fit as I expected it to. But I specifically bought it because it says chunky. I have an evening wedding to attend on October 1st, and here in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, there is a possibility of the weather being rather cold. I would describe the weight as medium. Hopefully it doesn't snow.
