The fabric felt strong but not too stiff. The body of the jacket was the right size, but the hood was too small. My child's head (and she's not even 3) was hanging out the front under the hood of a 4T jacket. It was probably about an inch past her hairline naturally. Sure, if you held it, it would cover her head, but it wouldn't stay there after she took a step or turned her head. Even though this jacket is very cute, life is too short to follow your little one with the hood on.
