Sensor for some cars is missing some tools

07/21/21 So I bought this because my car (2008 Toyota Prius don't hate me) is missing some gauges that some other cars just don't have or appear on the main instrument cluster, such as B. speed or engine temperature. So I bought this product partly for those reasons and am happy with it so far. I haven't really been able to test this item thoroughly as I only received it a few hours ago or today when I typed this, but I'm pretty sure I'll update this review over time. I definitely want to see what my engine RPM is and feel like this product will get the job done. The question(s) is if it is a reliable product and how long will it last me. 7/26/21 After doing this for a little less than a full week, I found that sometimes there will be a quick reboot, this has been the case for a few days. I went through my screenshots and noticed that I had taken one of the ones that asked if there is a way turn it off to start/stop the car when they turn off their car because they are concerned that the Battery is draining, and someone mentioned going into the settings and setting the starting voltage to 13.5 volts, so I did. This seems to have pretty much fixed the problem but it still restarts from time to time, it will do this when I turn my machine on, I'm not sure if it's due to voltage fluctuations when I turn it on or what, but hey. A few days after I got it, I hooked it up to my grandfather's friend's car, which has an RPM sensor. It seems like the Kennwei speed sensor is about 500 or so slower. While my grandfather's friend's car was reporting 1200 RPM, the ID reported 700-800 RPM. I'm not sure if it was just the car reporting incorrectly or the ID reporting incorrectly. I haven't checked what else. The opposite effect was even turned off sometimes when I was driving down the street. So I think I lowered the voltage to 13.8 volts and finally down to 13 volts and seems to have mitigated the problem, but still restarts. I've found that, say I've driven 10 miles, the unit has failed by about 1/2 mile or more of the total miles driven. I mentioned the brightness and reflection convoy on the windshield at times when day turns into night and asked if they could release an update and/or if they had a hood that could mitigate or fix this issue. and they mentioned passing the feedback on to their team.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
