These electric salt and pepper grinders are great. I've always found it very difficult to turn a coffee grinder on manual shakers. Sometimes the salt or pepper didn't come out at all due to poor construction or poor function. I've been using these electric grinders for about a month and haven't had any problems. This is easy to adjust if you want a fine or regular amount of salt or pepper. The blue light comes on when you turn the grinders almost vertically, and no buttons need to be pressed to start grinding. As soon as you turn the shaker almost vertically, it will automatically pop out. The only downside to these grinders is that they each require 6 amp batteries and are quite heavy on the bottom when filled with salt or pepper. The mill measures 8 inches tall on the long side of the hood and 7.25 inches tall on the short open side. Overall this is a great product and I might buy a few more for Christmas gifts this year.
