The reason I bought this camera was for the rear view camera. I have dash cams but they only show the front view. This is the front and rear cameras. Easy to set up and install. It is possible to connect a reversing camera to the brake lights to have a reversing camera as a backup. This allows the screen to be full size when backed up and not 1/4 of the dash cam's screen (top right). I didn't need it, so I didn't use it. A big shortcoming, the rear camera takes mirror-inverted pictures. Everything is in reverse order. I asked a question about it on the Amazon site and the company's response was: It is. Otherwise you will receive two files with the download. One for the front view and one for the back view (which is displayed in full screen), which is handy for timing front and back videos if needed. I bought two and am very satisfied.
