Two separate pieces much easier to handle than one big piece.
When we replaced the mattress on my vintage Jenny Lind bed with one of the pillow topper mattresses, it made the bed so tall, you practically needed a pole vault to get into it. This low-profile [4"] box springs replaced the previous 8" box springs. Perfect solution. It came in two separate pieces, so it was much easier to handle than it would have been if it were one big piece.
