I went from 1 small tank to 3 in 2 months and didn't have a single power strip big enough to meet my 7 plug needs. save again! Maybe I could find something locally but for a family with 1 car it was easier to buy online. I chose this because I needed a reasonable length of cable, a short 3ft cable just wouldn't be enough. The black color matched and complimented my decor and had exactly the number of end caps I was looking for. Even better, the ports were correctly aligned with what I needed to connect. And it didn't have those pesky useless USB ports. Some plugs are unwieldy, making connecting multiple things to a track kind of a Tetris thing, and you can't always get it to work. This GE extender was perfect and worked for me. I was able to connect 3 LED lights, 3 filters and an air pump to keep my fish happy. The best part is I hardly notice where I posted it. It has a small blue light to indicate the power strip is on. And a switch to turn everything off, which makes it easier for me to empty the tank. I just flip that switch and get out without having to unplug and plug back in. The cord is thick and durable. The Powerstrip can be mounted on a wall or the side of a desk to keep your workspace clean and avoid trip hazards.
