Multidirectional? - TV antennas

This antenna is said to be multi-directional (according to the description) and has multiple antennas (top and bottom). However, you cannot point the top and bottom antennas in different directions. It picks up stations that are a few degrees apart, which is better than a directional antenna. But at my location I have to separate the directions of the antennas by about 20-30 degrees and this antenna doesn't receive all the transmitters around me because it doesn't separate the signals (directions) and doesn't combine the signals. I tried combining the signals with another antenna but it didn't work. I'm not sure why, but the preamp needs to be on the antenna side of the combiner and this can cause the signal to be mismatched with the other antenna. The bottom line is that this multi-directional antenna can only be pointed in one direction.

Pros
  • Convenient
Cons
  • Negative present
