I had a dual drive pulley/mower deck that was working hard on an engine powered lawn mower that I couldn't remove. After soaking it in penetrating lubricant for three days, I tried a three-tooth puller, which began to warp the pulley. I have applied heat in vain. I then attempted to cut a wood saw into a C shape to support the pulley and distribute the weight. Good thing it just cracked in half. So I ordered this tool and when I used it with a two tooth puller and applied heat I heard a happy popping sound! FYI - you still need a fairly large 2 tooth puller to use in conjunction with this tool. Three-pin doesn't work! My pulley had a 4 inch gauge and this tool fitted like a glove. For bigger pulleys they make a bigger puller. OTC makes pullers designed to work with this tool, but I just went to Sears and bought one to save money. There's no real difference in pullers, but this tool is unique (to my knowledge). After removing the pulley I used this tool to hold the pulley in place and with a rubber mallet hammered out the damage I had. made with a 3 prong puller. So really, this tool worked twice as well as it should!
