I would not recommend as a gift. When I opened the product, the box containing all the items had a hole the size of a nickel. This was caused by the sharp edge of one of the utensils rubbing against side I during storage, transport, etc. So I don't want to give this if the recipient sees it. That's why I give 3 stars for durability. Now I'm sure the bodywork will weather over time as many utensils are sharp. Now the items themselves are amazing. They stand up to my family's constant grilling habits. We've used the skewers, tongs, spatula, salt and pepper shakers, meat thermometer, cleaning brush and corn cob holder a number of times and they are amazing and hold up really well. They are durable and worth the price. If you are willing to put up with the slight downside of a portable case and want to buy a quality grill set, I recommend this one.
