Review on 🔊 iHome iW3 AirPlay Wireless Audio System - Black OPEN BOX (Rechargeable) by Ericka Kuhn

I really liked this speaker and am very happy with the sound. The problem was that setting it up via the iHome app is a bit of a hassle. First I charged the device. No problem. The next step was to download the iHome app for free via iTunes. Once installed, connect the cable from the speaker to your device (I had an iPhone 4S). Here you can select your network and enter your password. My problem was that it seemed to freeze at this point. I knew I was connected to my Wi-Fi network because the green light was solid, not blinking, indicating I was connected. My problem was getting AirPlay to work. For that, I can say that Apple made it a bit more difficult than expected. HERE IS MY ADVICE FOR AIR PLAY. I found that I need to play a song on my device and then swipe up to open the submenu the new iOS now has and then I can select the speaker to play the music. From then on it was smooth. Everything worked great. I could control the volume and select a song from the speaker. I think people are frustrated with the setup and rightly so, but it works well once you get over the hurdles. Hope this helps someone! UPDATE: December 26, 2013 - Try to determine if the main power switch (on the back of the unit) should be left in the ON position. I turned it off and seem to have forgotten my Wi-Fi network. Resynching wasn't difficult and then it works fine. I will report more later. I think the device sounds great, but there seem to be few reviews with tips to solve simple problems. Hope this helps someone or what others comment. UPDATE: December 28, 2013 - I've learned that after syncing to an existing Wi-Fi network, the main power switch (on the back of the speaker) must be left in the "ON" position. " position. You then control the power supply on top of the speaker. I was able to play music through the speaker through both my iPhone and my iMac (separately, of course) with no issues. In fact, with my iMac I could play music through at the same time play the speaker and iMac I hope this helps someone.
