I have a 7 year old girl who is slightly above the "average" (to use the term very loosely) in her age group and is taller than most. Built like a 10 year old. I followed the size chart and increased based on the reviews but it was still small. You can tell from the discoloration of the material compared to the rest that the belly section was tight and the leg section was also tight as it had a small butt. The material is generally good, very cute, but I went back and ordered the next size up. If it wasn't for the pool party we were supposed to be attending I would have sent them back and ordered a size up too. With that said, look at the chart and go 3 sizes up. The rearrangement was still a bit tight so I had to make my own adjustments and stretch the leg area. If you have a "not so average" baby, go 3 sizes up.
