This horn is very well made and very loud! I have the latest Nissan 4x4 with a factory horn that confuses me every time I honk. He let out a barely audible groan. Nobody ever paid attention to it. The first time I signaled this kid, the woman who tried to interrupt me, judging by the look of shock and surprise on her face, pissed her pants. Before that I tried a different sound signal. It was a cluster of two very short horns. They were loud but very high pitched which I didn't like. It sounded like an angry Fiat. After some research I found that the horn should be longer for a deeper tone. The sound of this horn is lower. It sounds like the horn of a train or the horn of a big oil rig. Due to the 17" length of this horn, I was only able to mount it at an angle of about 60 degrees down between the radiator and front grille. I installed an air compressor in the engine bay and ran a purchased air hose (the hose that came with the unit is only about 12 inches long) to the horn (about 2 feet). I like to keep things private and it struck me that since it's chrome plated you can actually see the horn through the grille. So I decided to take some black high temp spray paint and paint the horn. Now it blends in well with the black heatsink and is no longer noticeable. If you want to make this horn even louder, check out the Wolo 808-C High Performance Air Compressor. It outputs 18-21 psi. Most standard air compressors that come with air horns produce 12psi. I upgraded the compressor to Wolo and it definitely made this horn even louder.
