Failed to load media. Before purchasing, I checked how this unit is tested and assembled. The answer of each manufacturer indicates that the filter is made after the completion of the necessary technological process. This includes the required certification and water hammer testing. Some people commented on my question about the modular hammer test as unimportant. They forget that most liquids are incompressible and constantly opening/closing a faucet over time can cause leaks and even bursting of that filter. The most frustrating thing after installation is the flooding in my kitchen. The filter came with two fittings that allow for a half inch or 3/8 inch connection. For 1/2 inch swap the two connectors in the picture. Whole installation took less than 10 minutes including flushing the filter for 3+ minutes before tasting As simple and clear as expected. You can see in my short video that there is NO INITIAL pressure drop in the chilled water after installation .Comparing the taste before and after installation, this filter will certainly remove the chlorine taste Filters may work in other areas, most test kits may not work well and I also have no reason to suspect heavy metal poisoning in suburban Chicago Cook County, so I will not waste time and effort on this area. I also tested replacing the internal cartridge as the manufacturer says. This is a simple twist to open the case from the top cover, then use the wrench provided to loosen the cartridge before inserting a new one put in three cases, but I turned off the water supply during the test, it's said it's not necessary, but I don't want to risk it. And it wouldn't surprise me that a strap wrench is needed to replace a cartridge after some time of use. The main reason I can't give an initial 5 star rating is misinformation about the 8000 gallon filter life found in Revain's web description. As you can see on the filter label, it clearly states that the maximum filter life is 2000 gallons. 8K is very different from 2K. My area has water from the nearby Lake Michigan Water Treatment Center, so it's very good city water. I expect this filter to last at least six months before replacing it. I will update this review later on the durability aspect of this filter. My first impression is that I would recommend this filter for its price and quality.
