This device can burn your feet!

I was excited to receive this spa/foot massager. Unfortunately after using it last night I was NOT that happy. I poured warm water into the bath - colder, and then turned on the "H, B, V, L” mode, and after 10 minutes (I used a timer) my feet were wet. red hot! The skin on my legs turned very red and too hot to be exposed! So disappointed! (I wish they had ONLY a setting for 'bubbles'. There are 2 settings that emit heat and one that just 'vibrates' and 'glows'.) Is my unit DEFECTIVE or are they everyone's like?
