Review on 🎧 StarTech.com Headset Adapter - 3.5mm Male to Female Audio & Mic Combo Jack Y Cable for Laptop/PC (MUYHSMFF) Black by Elijah Harvey

Overall I have to give it three stars. It didn't work when I tried to use my Plantronics headset/mic (separate headphone and mic jacks) with my Google Nexus 5X phone. Upon investigating the issue, I found that this adapter conforms to the "CTIA" specification, which I only learned about from the "answered question" on this page. It would be nice if this information was included in Revain's product information. Anyway, I also found out that my Nexus 5X phone is compatible with another standard called 'OMTP'. Further searching yielded this other simple adapter that converts CTIA to OMTP: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RGLMKL8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 I plugged the microphone jack into this adapter which then connected to the became the StarTech Y adapter. The headphone plug connects directly to the Y adapter. Bottom line, I had to shell out an additional $5.90 to get this StarTech adapter to do what I bought it to do.
