Review on πŸ’¨ Optimized Vornado 5303DC Air Circulator Fan for Energy Efficiency, Smart Variable Speed Control, and Small Size by Brittany Williams

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exceeded expectations, buy, why is there an anchor in the middle of the power cord?

Smaller than my original freestanding Vornado but works just as well. I really appreciate the stable floor stand; My last Vornado had this "twisted tube" and it was pretty easy to tip over (and break!). This one is durable and looks attractive. The remote control is a nice feature, but the remote control is tiny; I can foresee the day this thing gets lost in the sofa cushions. The device came with a disassembled stand, but it wasn't difficult to assemble; I didn't even have to consult the directions, everything was intuitive. The fan uses a DC motor. It's a little different from other fans in that it accelerates faster and more efficiently to the last set speed, and when you turn it off, it turns off and stops almost immediately; almost as if he had brakes. I don't particularly like the large transformer box (inverter? converter?) built into the power cord - it looks like it could easily be hidden at the bottom of the base. The Vornado is a premium fan, and that heavy, clunky black box in the middle of the cable doesn't look premium. I'm also not sure what the rear fin is. It says it's an "air booster" but I think I'll need someone to explain the science behind that claim to see if it actually speeds up airflow. Either way, this is a handy place to wind up the cord. The range of motion is from vertical to just south of horizontal so it's not pointing down. Overall, the performance of the fan far exceeded my expectations. It moves a huge volume of air for its size and is quieter than my previous model. I can use the air conditioning less, but still have a comfortable temperature range in the (large) room where the fan is located. As always, there is no "free or reduced price in exchange for my review” here. I paid full list price for it and my views and opinions are my own based on my own experience. I hope you find something useful here when shopping for a good fan. Dean Buzzell
