Review on 6.8" E-reader Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2021 1236x1648, E-Ink, Standard Equipment, Black by Wiktor Borowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

If possible, take a version without ads or specify for which market the reader is before buying (optimally - tied to the USA Amazon store), since if you come across a copy for Japan with a link to the JP Amazon store, then with the "free" method to remove ads, you may experience very great difficulty. Carefully check the screen for dust under the plastic "glass", there will be a bright dot to shine when the backlight is on, the first instance brought to me had such a problem.

Pros
  • Well, I waited for my ideal reader! Before it, there were different models of PocketBook, Onyx Boox, Sony, Amazon, and everywhere there were minor complaints, then to the operating system, autonomy, service life of mechanical buttons, fragility of the book design, etc. - The screen size of 6.8 is ideal for reading fiction in my opinion, 6 inches is not enough, and 7.8 on the contrary is a lot. - Build is excellent. - Settings are simple and intuitive. - I really liked the wireless charging, it works great through a case on a regular Baseus Simple. - There are no more problems with book covers on firmware 52022.1 and converting to AZW3 in Caliber 6 version, all covers are correctly loaded, displayed and not reset.
Cons
  • Standard for Amazon Books: 1. Lack of native support for FB2 (solved by converting to AZW3 or MOBI to Caliber) 2. The size of the text indent settings from the edges of the screen (margin width), this was a pain for me in Kindle PW 2022 at 6 inches, this one is much more comfortable and does not cause discomfort when reading. And specifically for this model of the Signature Edition reader: The light sensor works very strangely, it greatly underestimates the comfortable brightness (IMHO), it may be improved in new firmware.
