We had a white (Destiny Edition) PS4 Pro - and the optical drive sucks. We went through the horrific process of completely disassembling the PS4 Pro to finally properly clean the heatsink, which we were hoping might be an issue. This process is not for the faint of heart. Luckily, I worked as a genius at Apple for many years and learned some really useful skills related to disassembling and repairing electronics, which made me a little nervous. I had to take my last breath. It turned on and kind of spun, but it was audible that the disk wasn't "accessed", so the disk icon stayed on the screen for a long time, and then finally it reported that an error had occurred. Connections (each disassembly / restoration incl. cleaning the thermal paste and applying a new coin-sized portion). It took a long time, but it fit perfectly and was the right part. You'll need to reroll some of the feathers, but I didn't overdo it. The moment of truth when we ran it (first booted into safe mode and rebuilt the database) - everything went fine, we put the disk in and everything was PERFECT! HOORAY! it's quieter, the exhaust/inlet mechanism is quieter and smoother, a BIG WIN - so we're very happy!
