The adhesive pads came off in the first few days, the laptop slips and may break

Poorly adhered adhesive pads - they just stick to the metal surface - they can't support the weight of the laptop. As a result, they detached very quickly and the stand no longer works. Instead of glue and rubber, use something with strong structural support. AVOID.
