Bluetooth connection worked and I was able to send data to a Bluetooth speaker across the room. The only downside I noticed was that it didn't come with a USB charging cable. So I figured any USB cable would do, but I had to try multiple cables until I found one that could charge it. It worked after that, but I think with a form factor this size, battery capacity will be limited. I ended up leaving it plugged into a USB port. Not critical, but something to keep in mind if you plan to go mobile with this bluetooth transceiver.
