These banana plugs are very well suited for spring clamp speaker connections. My receiver and speaker setup is a mix of 5-pin clamps and spring clamps. I used banana terminals (amzn.com/B075JRBBKT) for the 5-way speaker and these banana pins for the spring terminals. They provide a secure connection to the speaker wire and will not fall out. They make installation/removal a breeze and my future self will be happy when I get new furniture and have to unplug everything to reinstall it. The rubber grommets can be positioned to fill any remaining gaps; because the pins are longer than the hole of the spring clip. I've had no issues with shorts with exposed pins; but I decided to arrange the sleeves so that they were closed anyway. You can cut off the end of the pin, but I chose to just raise the socket higher to cover the exposed area of the pin. Be careful not to unscrew the pin completely when connecting the speaker cable, otherwise it may fall out.
