In an ideal world, that would be a foot taller and another half foot. In this imperfect world, this is a great deal for cats, kittens, and owners alike. (Good luck finding the best.). For cats who need vertical stretch to scratch - not everyone needs it, but those who do need it can't compromise - this is a great choice. In my multi-cat house, this is especially great as it has both horizontal and vertical stretch options. Sisal is always better than cardboard, in my opinion both packaging and assembly are excellent. Happy I went to this one based on the reviews. It's hard to imagine this being a bad choice for those who want a scratching post for cats and/or kittens.
