I saw this in a U-tube video being used by a professional auto mechanic to touch up cars. I used standard retouching paint out of the bottle, but instead of using a thick brush that drips paint, I used a brush to transfer a small amount of paint into a recess on the pen. This allows you to pinpoint a small amount of paint into the smallest holes in the stone chips. Paint the paint first, and after the clear coat has dried you can fill in the stone chips to the same level as the surrounding paint, making them almost invisible to the naked eye.
