I took out the sharpener and read the instructions on the box. Well packaged, easy to understand instructions. However, the movable arms are not smooth and therefore not square when pulled apart for sharpening. I used a knife that was reasonably sharp but needed a bit of work. According to the instructions, the knife was duller than when it started. The product is easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow. This is a fake from another brand. Not a very happy camper. The item has been returned for a refund.
