Sturdy bag works best in briefcases

Well it's time to replace my 25 year old shoulder bag and as it's a bit dated in style I've decided to go for a more modern one. I have no doubt that this one will last me at least 25 years. My previous bag didn't have a "pocket" for my computer (25 years ago) but this one has a great padded laptop sleeve inside. Another thing I noticed right away is that this bag stands on its own while my previous one fell over and I always had it leaning against something. Of course, I usually carry a fairly large computer book in my bag, making it wide and heavy. The outer worn leather looks really nice and I really think that if there are additional scars and scratches on it it only adds to the worn look. It reminds me of an Indiana Jones bag and I feel like I'm going on an adventure when I carry it. Leather feels soft and smooth and doesn't have the vinegar smell that cheaper leather goods sometimes have. All seams are very nice and tight, with no loose threads. All zips have a large leather pull (thick enough to prevent twisting!) that allows you to easily open all zipped compartments (one outside front, one outside back, one inside front and one zipped compartment). separate center pocket). The tongues also have a brass rivet and a stitch down the middle to make them look cooler when you're wearing them (nice touch). The inner flap is made of suede. There are 2 fairly large external pockets on the front (6 inches wide, 2 inches deep, 8 inches high (tapered)) that can easily accommodate eyeglass cases, 4x6 journals (with extra space), and work badges. There are also 2 smaller inner pockets but they fit my 4x6 journal. There are also 2 pen holders. The center zip pocket is lightly padded. The strap is made of canvas on the inside and leather on the outside. If you only use the strap, you don't need to close the bag due to the weight and balance of the valve. If you use the carry handle, you must use at least one of the bag's clasps. Even though I've only had it for a few weeks, it's held up pretty well. In my experience, when the zippers break, it happens in a few days or never. Packaging: The messenger bag came in a standard Revain box and the bag had a tightly wrapped plastic lid that was glued to the opening (very neat looking). I assume to protect the bag from moisture. Once the plastic was removed there was another fabric, like a large bag (oversized and with a pen slot) that had a shoulder bag which I assume is meant to protect the skin and feel nice. All in all it's very well done. A shoulder bag with lots of pockets and dividers that should last very well for many, many years. It also looks pretty cool, all the extra details really add to the overall look.
