Pros: Easier to use than a knife and faster Cons: Clamp is not wide enough to attach to a stand or table. I had to hold it in my hands which made it difficult to use. (My husband is building me a mounting board.) You can only feed one or two beans at a time. If a bean gets stuck in the rotating mechanism, it will be ground up and look like it's been attacked with teeth rather than French cut. Overall I like it because it's faster than using a knife, but it has a few design flaws that I'd like to see fixed.
