So well built. This hardened plane is strong and heavy. The finishes are very well finished with smooth surfaces that are easy to clean. The whole block is easy to assemble. The blades are of excellent quality and had no cutting problems in the test. The slices are homogeneous, which is very important when preparing jerky with the same smoking or drying time. This is where a hardened planer has an advantage over cutting by hand. The tenderizer is very efficient. The crank stroke is very smooth. The pliers supplied have dangerously sharp edges. Throw them away and get the best pair. This inclusion effectively devalues the overall package. Also, we are very happy to have this beef jerky - my husband is a bit of a hunter so we are looking forward to making venison jerky.
