I have used these on smooth metal cabinets or formica lined cabinets. They all fell off in a day or two. I've tried washing the sticky parts of the base, reattaching it, and letting it "cure" for 24 hours before trying to put on the top attached to the extension, but got the same results. Some had both parts separating leaving the stick behind, some had the base sticky and the two parts of the bracket remained but the top sticky material remained on the extension. In general I give 0 out of 5 points. I do NOT recommend
