This is a really nice gift idea for anyone that might be casually interested in RC cars and trucks or a great entry for someone without the funds to go all in. Right out of the box, this is pretty impressive, nothing like the RC car and track packages that places like Radio Shack used to sell. Everything is here like you would expect to see in a much more expensive package the difference being that what might be metal in the high end gear is plastic in this truck. That being said, it's still pretty durable. I did some full speed crashes and it just bounced off of walls, trees and yes, furniture. The shocks aren't the best but they appear to be oil filled as they have true dampening. The steering and throttle response is linear with no abruptness. It's fast, the batteries charge relatively quickly but the motor does get hot so be careful when you change them out. It comes with a spare battery, charge cord, extra body retaining clips and some basic tools. You will need to supply two AA batteries. Other than that, it's ready for fun. Nothing not to like here
