We have 2/3 months of quarantine and my legs have become like a wolf man! I live in LA and it's getting hot here, so I didn't want to wear pants and years of waxing (mostly due to terrible razor burns) and I didn't want to give up shaving. I've tried all types of wax at home - I have a small wax jar of soft wax, hard wax, sugar wax and pre-waxed strips and I like it a lot more than anyone else. Growing at home is very messy and I'm not a professional which is why it's so hard for me to grow! It's incredibly messy and the pre-rubbed streaks are okay, but I've never been in love. So I figured I need to do something since it's starting to heat up, so I ordered this! I had to wait about a week after ordering it to get it - so I had a whole week to stress myself and read about epilator pain. It's all too dramatic! I was very worried but hopeful! First of all, whoever said it was worse than childbirth is crazy. I didn't have a baby, but since it's just a little tingling - and once you get used to it, it's nothing - I can't believe it. maybe 5 years (I also had sugar which I hated and thought was a lot more painful). (I also got my thighs done, which I both wax and shave, and the hair is thicker and burns more - FYI - but definitely not by much.) They recommend trimming the hair on my legs, and I do had to do it because my legs were very long - it was probably closer to 3 months since I last waxed them with curls - and the hair was probably an inch long (damn, but let's face it, that was it probably). So I charged it - and my friend did something to his leg. He made a face and I said - let me try - and you know what?! It tingled a little, but no more than wax. Yes, waxing is faster, but you do it yourself. You control the speed. Also, I had very long hair on my legs (again nonsense, but that's it). Here's my advice: trim your hair when it's long - it's recommended to keep it from twitching too much and only pulling at the root. . I was lazy and didn't do it and it was still good. - Use a gentle option. I started with this, but towards the end of my legs (on the first try - I lifted it up a bit) - start slow. - Make sure the skin is taut. I used a table (and an ottoman as I switched legs while watching TV). Keeping your leg straight and teasing it using your other hand and stretching over the area you are doing, this is how you do it. If you don't use the other hand, but just walk like a razor, it will hurt more. The tighter you keep the skin the better. Be sure to move in the opposite direction of your hair growth. It all seems to grow in the same direction - it doesn't - especially on the back of the legs. - I didn't see it mentioned anywhere, but I did to get started! Use small strokes! Do not move from one part of the leg to the other. I'm sure you can do this in the future, but if you're just starting out I recommend making small changes. You'll get used to it and start hitting longer and longer shots. Believe me. As with the wax, you'll probably want to apply something afterwards to calm them down. I have sensitive skin and when I depilate I get red pimples that go away after a few hours. It is the same with this device. "Also, he doesn't know waxing - you usually get more ingrown hairs than shaving." I think the same goes for this one. Use a foot scrub when showering. I love this thing! I love that I can do it myself and it's almost painless (yes, there is some pain, but it's definitely bearable and no more than waxing - maybe even less). I saw someone say there's a fire and it's not much. And you get used to it. And you hardly feel it at all. Serious. I feel sorry for my wax girl because I will not go back to waxing after that. I LOVE that I can do it myself (and you can touch it up and not let it wax for so long) with the same results as waxing. My legs are so smooth! I was really sooooo happy with it!
