For the price these speakers are the absolute best value you can find, period. I was looking for outdoor speakers for a 100" projection screen for my patio. I have been using Polk Audio for many years, in fact my home theater system consists of Polk Audio speakers, with the exception of the main speakers which are Bowers and Wilkins. In short, I am a Fan of "more relaxed" speakers that allow you to enjoy the sound for longer periods without ear fatigue starting a war with my neighbors here) I pulled these triggers I couldn't be happier with my purchase Paired with my old trusty Denon receivers in Zone 2 and with no EQ or crossover these speakers have proven to be an absolute bargain.Speaker response is accurate, with plenty of detail and separation for a beautiful, wide and clear soundstage that makes the speakers virtually invisible. Contrary to many claims, I found the bass in them given their size and acoustic characteristics On my patio (they are attached to a concrete wall and the area is covered) more than adequate. You can clearly define all the highs and lows and as this is a Polk those tweeters aren't going to be too aggressive, the only thing you don't get is the amazing base you can achieve by adding a subwoofer to the mix. The speakers can easily fill my entire deck and pool (40 x 35 feet) with sound without having to be loud. Another area where I've been pleasantly surprised is their movie performance, voices, music and special effects, all of which shine effortlessly at any volume, and yes, they can get VERY loud when you want to push them. I wouldn't hesitate to review these on the outdoor speaker market as long as you should be able to power enough and be operational with a dedicated amp or receiver. Give them a real break and enjoy!
