Review on πŸ”§ AstroAI 2000 Count Digital Multimeter with DC AC Voltmeter, Ohm Volt Amp Tester - Voltage, Current, Resistance Measurement; Live Wire Testing, Continuity Detection by Ronnie Toups

Revainrating 5 out of 5

UPDATE: counter works great!

Updated Review 5/11/2018: Support contacted me immediately after posting my first review and they were able to send another set of leads for the counter. I checked the cables and they work even better than my replacement cables. Voltages, resistance and continuity work perfectly! Rating increased to 5 points for a good product at a great price with great customer service! First review: The meter itself works great, was packaged well and had some standard length cables. Unfortunately, the counter showed nothing at all! No voltage, no resistance, no current and above all no continuity! So I went ahead and started checking, the bent paper clip in the wire connectors quickly showed continuity! So that means there is a problem with the output. I verified the positive output by checking the COM port, integrity was confirmed. Checked the negative pole in the same way, there is no continuity. The negative wire fits into the connectors, and the positive wire is very tight, almost difficult to remove. The negative cable can be easily removed and even after spreading the legs at the fork end of the connector there is still no continuity. As mentioned, with working outputs it works as expected. Unfortunately I'll have to splice a few points as without these replacement cables I would have to either purchase a replacement cable set or go through the warranty replacement process. I'm lucky as I have a kit, other people building their first entry level meter may not be so lucky. It can be a good idea to take a bunch of leads separately if you have quality control concerns.
