I've been using it for at least 6 weeks and it has been working effectively. Easy installation according to instructions. To make sure I'm attaching the bases exactly where they need to be, I used washable markers to trace them in the correct position before removing the glue. I think if I hadn't done that it wouldn't have installed as successfully as it did. It is suitable for younger toddlers but I can see a 3 year old understanding this. So far I'm thankful for that. Mine keeps the lid from rising when in the locked position. Can't explain why some other reviews suggest they failed - if I dare to suggest they're from different manufacturers who have changed since then, but I got mine in May 2022 and it's July and now he has remained effective. I hope this problem is in the past.
