For our Christmas lights we have a set with a multifunctional controller that is not designed for outdoor use in "weather". I wanted to leave it out in the rain, so I had to protect the device. I have a fairly large (1.25β³) VPC wire case and wanted to cap the ends with small holes for the power and lighting wires. The inside diameter of the lead holes was correct, about 1.7 inches odd. I bought them because they claimed to fit a variety of sizes. And they did. The flexible flanges made this a very comfortable fit. I drilled the middle holes, partially cut them to allow the cable to slip into the hole and then closed it up and it works like a charm.
