I mostly have hard floors with mats. I needed a light duty vacuum with a wand that would suck up pet hair and stray bits, dirt and straw from the garden. It does the job pretty well. I love that it has adjustable suction and can be disassembled to hold it in your hand. A small power tool is much better than a turbo-powered tool for upholstery cleaning. Please note that there is no space in the wall box to store this tool (I keep it in a closet nearby). The assembled stick vacuum with power floor nozzle weighs about 6 pounds. all together and not too difficult to maneuver. I love that the regular floor nozzle is small enough to sit on any step of the stairs. This is not ideal for rugs as my thick dense rugs are difficult to move. When you detach the tube, the dirt cup is right next to the inlet tube, making aiming a bit tricky without using one of the attachments. BIG plus - wall storage. I attached it to the wall in the hallway next to the stairwell and the back door. I can plug it in until it's charged as long as it's hanging there, convenient to use. The battery worked well for me as I mostly use it at short intervals for stairwells and picking up small debris. Emptying the cup is a little more difficult than some models. You loosen the sump assembly by pressing the button and tilting it out and down. Then you need to remove the small washable filter and set it aside and then unscrew the metal shield so you can empty the cup. It's not difficult, but not as easy as some of the other models. I am happy with this purchase.
