We live on the 23rd floor. Children constantly climb everywhere, including on the windowsill. I bought this lock, put it on one casement of each window. For other doors, it is easier to buy a handle with a lock or remove the handles altogether by installing a plug. If you live in an area with cold winters, you need to slightly (0.5-1 mm) move the lock towards you when installing. It will be more difficult to open / close the lock (we open windows twice a year to wash), but in winter it will not blow from below. Installation takes 5-10 minutes.
