Let me start this review by telling people to ignore the many reviews people have about their arm not going up and down. The tension setting for this lever is ***back***. Common sense will tell you that turning the tension screw clockwise to the right increases tension when the opposite is true. Be sure to turn this screw to the right if your monitor is locked (the monitor is too light) and to the left if your monitor is locked (the monitor is too heavy). All of the adjustments on this arm are the same and this is not stated in the instructions (although there is a very small picture on the arm itself to show this). It's out of the way, I returned this mount immediately. after receiving it because the arm I received, like many others in these reviews, was clearly previously used and had a completely different finish than that shown in the listing, different reviews and even different from the one on the North Arrow Bayou F160 difference (double) that I also own. The mount I received had scuffs on the base and arm and had a gloss black finish as opposed to the matte powder coated others, and some of the mounting hardware showed obvious signs of wear. Reading some of the other reviews it is clear that some people are getting used models of this hand and I was one of them. Also, the construction itself is solid and I had no trouble holding my 25-inch (10 lb) Dell monitor. I would highly recommend it to anyone, just be aware of a few design issues that may or may not be an issue for you. First, there is no vesa plate, the arm screws directly into the vesa holes on your monitor. This may or may not be an issue depending on the monitor type. Second, this arm doesn't rise as high as most monitor arms, even other gas spring arms. If your desk is against a wall and you want your monitor to slide back against it, you'll need to mount the mount off-center, a problem common to all this type of mount. All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending this mount, particularly for the build quality to value ratio, but check the hand you are receiving carefully to make sure it is not a pr electronic or older model, and familiarize yourself with its limitations.
