For the past few years I have used a small salt bowl when cooking. I figured it would be better to switch to a salt container with a lid to get rid of the problem of food splashing into my salt. I bought this particular cart because I thought the spoon on top was a nice feature. However, I have found that I never use a spoon. I just open it up like I always do and use my fingers to salt the food I'm cooking. I like that the lid moves in every direction. that's a good feature
